Shape Matching Puzzles

There are 4 different colorful puzzles with pictures of forest animals, garden plants and objects, ocean life and adorable sloths!

Cut out the puzzle pieces and have you kids try to recognize the shape in real world object. They’ll find the puzzle piece with the correct shape and match it with the object on the mat. When they complete the puzzle, the picture will be revealed. This way, the puzzles are also self correcting!

If you prefer, you can place the puzzle pieces upside down instead and draw the shapes on the back of each puzzle piece.

This way, the puzzle will turn into a “mystery” one and kids won’t be able to recognize, what the completed picture will look like, until the puzzle is completed. That can be fun too! That’s why this pack includes additional version for each puzzle, without the shapes on puzzle pieces.

This set includes the following 2D shapes: circle, triangle, square, oval, rectangle, trapezoid, diamond, pentagon, octagon and hexagon.

This printable PDF includes 12 pages of 4 shape matching puzzles.

TO PREP: Print out the puzzles. Print them on cardstock for more durability. Cut them out.

TO PLAY: Let you kids try to recognize the shape in the real world objects, find the puzzle piece with the correct shape and match it with the object on the mat. Have fun!
