For a while I had some white cups still in the original packaging stashed somewhere in the back of the cupboard. They always seem too white and bland so I never used them. Until now. I got an interesting idea! Let’s combine our homemade craft foam stamps and some porcelain markers to decorate them! 🙂

YOU’LL NEED

  • porcelain or glass mug
  • craft foam
  • small wooden block
  • porcelain markers
  • liquid glue
  • scissors

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut out individual letters. Glue them to the wooden block (make sure to flip each letter over, so the imprints will be turned in the correct direction) and wait for the glue to dry.

Color each letter with a porcelain marker.

One by one carefully imprint them on the cup (before doing this it’s a recommended to wipe down the cup with some rubbing alcohol, to remove any grease stains and finger prints).

If the color needs to be cured in the oven (not necessary for all types of markers- check the label), continue with following the instructions on the label.

If an imprint does not work the first time, you can use a tissue and some rubbing alcohol to erase it and try again!

This way the porcelain markers can be used in a new way and create fun new motifs. Our cups got the makeover in the form of letters, hearts, and dots. It takes very little to change completely ordinary cups into your favorite ones! 🙂
